Concrete Moisture Testing

Service Details

All of our technicians use Tramex Moisture Meters, Scanners, Data Loggers, and the newest Hygro-i2 probes. We are trained and certified through Flooring Consultants and Inspection Training Services (FCITS), and Independent Floor Testing and Inspections (IFTI). We are up to date with all the current concrete testing procedures and are compliant with all OSHA Crystalline Silica containment practices. For most testing, ASTM standards require 3 tests for the first 1,000 square feet and 1 additional test for every 1,000 square feet thereafter.

Testing methods include:

  • ASTM F-2170-02 In Situ Testing Method for Concrete Relative Humidity
  • ASTM F-1869-04 Anhydrous Calcium Chloride Moisture Vapor Emissions Testing
  • Full scope testing Includes both ASTM-F2170 & ASTM F-1869

Along with all moisture testing, the following is included:

  • Surface moisture reading (ASTM F-2659)
  • PH test (ASTM F-710)
  • Air space temperature and humidity
  • Infrared thermometer readings of the concrete
  • Visual distress rating of concrete in the test location

Why do I need a 3rd party testing agency?

A 3rd party testing agency won’t skew the test results in order to fit an agenda or an installation schedule. This will provide you with unbiased results giving you the ability to install, or not install, a product that may be moisture sensitive.

Are your technicians certified?

All of our technicians are certified through FCITS Concrete & Vapor Emissions Testing and IFTI Concrete & Vapor Emissions Testing.

Do you carry insurance?

We carry General Liability (GL) and Professional Liability Insurance (PLI), which is also called professional indemnity insurance (PII) but more commonly known as errors & omissions (E&O)
